2017 Reading the ’90s Challenge.

I am currently reading a book, published in the 1990s, which has been sitting on my shelves for quite a while now. About halfway through it, I came across a quote that I wanted to share. From that idea grew another one which said, “why not attempt to ‘run’ my own reading challenge? Namely, read the ’90s. The specifics of this reading challenge (how many books, geographical location, etc) is still on the drawing table. As of right now, I’m thinking to place no limitations on the challenge participants except to read a minimum of five books, in any genre, that were published in the 1990’s.

To be honest, I’m a little bit hesitant about launching this challenge because I have problems finishing reading challenges myself. This year is the closest I’ve come to finishing the African Reading Challenge which calls for five books to be read. I’ve only read three! What can I say? My reading taste is nomadic and travels accordingly! So I’m reluctant to put any limitations, except numerical, on challenge participants.

I’ve created a Facebook public group for this challenge. If you are interested in participating, please join the group. I hope that if you do join, you share your progress, your thoughts about what you are reading [specific to the challenge] and fellowship with other readers. The only thing I ask is that we all keep it positive and construction as I do want to keep the group public.
